Privacy notice
Effective from 27 September 2026
This notice explains how we process the personal data provided on our website, in particular through the quote request form. It has been prepared in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR) and Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on the Right of Informational Self-Determination and on Freedom of Information (Infotv.). In the event of any discrepancy, the Hungarian version prevails.

2. Quote requests and enquiries

| Legal basis | Taking steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where the person requesting the quote acts as a company contact rather than on their own behalf, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining contact (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). |
| Retention period | If no contract is concluded, up to 1 year from the request. If a contract is concluded, the data is processed within the contractual relationship for the period specified there. |
| Provision of data | Voluntary. However, we cannot provide a quote without your name, e-mail address and legal form. |
Please do not include special categories of data (such as health data) in your message, and only include third parties' data if you are entitled to do so.
3. Enquiries by phone and e-mail
If you contact us by phone or e-mail, we process the name, contact details and content of your enquiry in order to respond to it, on the legal basis and for the period described in section 2.
4. Client data
Our clients are informed separately, in a notice attached to their contract, about the data processed in the course of accounting, payroll and advisory services (including employees' payroll data). Under Section 169 of Hungarian Act C of 2000 on Accounting, accounting documents are retained for at least 8 years.
5. Cookies and external services
Our website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. Your dark/light display preference is not stored on your device either. The password-protected administration area used to edit news only uses a session cookie that is technically necessary for logging in; this does not affect visitors.
Fonts are loaded from the Google Fonts service (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). In the process your browser connects to Google's servers, and Google may learn your IP address. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a consistent and legible presentation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Details: Google Privacy Policy.
6. Processors and recipients
We do not sell your personal data or pass it on to third parties for marketing purposes. Only those of our staff who need the data to perform their duties have access to it. Our processors:

In the event of an official request (e.g. from a court, the tax authority or the police), we may disclose the data required by law to the authority.
7. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that personal data cannot be accessed, modified or destroyed by unauthorised persons. Our staff are bound by confidentiality.
8. Your rights
- Access: you may ask whether and which of your data we process.
- Rectification: you may request that inaccurate data be corrected or completed.
- Erasure: you may request erasure of your data if it is no longer needed or there is no legal basis for processing it.
- Restriction: you may request restriction of processing, for example if you contest the accuracy of the data.
- Objection: you may object at any time to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Data portability: you may request the data you provided in a structured, machine-readable format.
You can send your request to iroda@balance.hu or by post to our registered office. We will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest.
9. Remedies
If you feel that we have infringed your data protection rights, please contact us first. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH):

You may also go to court if your rights are infringed. You can bring the action before the regional court competent for your place of residence or stay. If you live in another EU country, you may also contact the data protection authority there.

We reserve the right to amend this notice. The version in force is always published on this page.
